UPVC PIPES & FABRICATED FITTINGS

FOR COLD WATER SUPPLY

Shows the range of UPVC pipes of two different pressure ratings 10 Bar and 16 bar for water supply, irrigation or for any other under-pressure system. The pressure ratings indicated are the continuous working pressures at 20° C temperature.

Since UPVC is a thermoplastic material, pressure ratings must be reduced as higher temperatures are encountered. Table 1.4 Shows the percentage of the pressure rating recommended for various working temperatures about 20° C with a fluctuation not exceeding  5° C. UPVC pipes should not be used for pressure duties if the operational temperature exceeds 60° C. As with all plastic pipe lines. Special precautions must be taken where there is a possibility of water hammer or surge pressure. incorporating surge tanks or pressure release valves in the system will obviate this problem.
